SONOCO was incorporated on 16 August 1989.1 Between 2011 and 2023 the capital was increased 5 times, most recently to EUR 2.1 billion.234 The registered office was moved to Diegem in 2021.5 Since 2025 the company has been called SONOCO.6 The board currently has 2 members; Adam G. Wood has served longest, since 2010.7 Revenue fell from EUR 7.6 million in 2018 to EUR 5.6 million in 2025 and headcount from 24 to 21.1 full-time equivalents.8
