The story

One builder, one obsession

Belgian company data is public but unreadable. Checked.be builds the usable layer on top — for contractors, freelancers, small-business owners, and anyone paying a deposit.

The Belgian Moniteur publishes bankruptcies, judicial reorganisations and director bans every day. The KBO tracks active companies, their NACE codes and their addresses. FOD Economie issues strikeouts for non-filed accounts. All public. All — if you have to find it yourself — buried behind search masks, PDFs and article numbers only lawyers read.

Checked.be does one thing well: it brings all those signals together on one dossier page per Belgian company, and it says in plain language whether something is wrong. So you know in 30 seconds whether to skip that deposit.

Builder

One Belgian builder, with a homegrown data pipeline doing the heavy lifting. No team, no VC. But: the sober belief that in 2026 a solo builder with the right tools — modern AI tools for copy and pair-coding, a well-chosen design system — can do everything that used to take a team of ten.
