Method and sources

The register (2022 to 2025) holds 398,588 entries. 382,470 of them are shown, 98% of the "awarded" amount. These are the recipients with an enterprise number that are legal entities. Not shown: 1,962 without an enterprise number, 14,156 with a number no longer (or never) in the open KBO data.

Awarded and paid are two different amounts and are never added. Corrections appear as negative amounts in the register.

The Flemish register publishes the names of its schemes, bodies and policy domains in Dutch only: they appear here as it publishes them.

The register at its source: Flemish government, subsidy register (opens the source's website)

The figures come from five public registers, updated every night: the Flemish subsidy register, the subsidy cadastre of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, the federal government's financial transfers (FPS BOSA), the European Commission's Financial Transparency System and the CORDIS research database. The figures are as the register publishes them. Checked adds them up per recipient, year and programme, within one register.

The registers do not count the same money. They hold awarded and paid subsidies, payments, invoiced transfers, attributed shares of EU commitments and contributions to research projects. So one register is shown at a time, never a total across registers.

Only legal entities with an enterprise number appear in the lists. Natural persons and sole traders are not shown, even where the register states their number. They do count in the register's coverage.
